I feel that i'm starting to push a style through the paintings that i'm doing. I think this painting is close to what i wanted to get out of this week's exercise. Happy i did a extra session!!

I think i got the painting bug. (meaning i always want to paint!!)

I loved this one still didn't get much done but i enjoyed it. 

Session was great got to paint with fellow artist Nathan Martinez. This guys  has a great drive i get inspired just talking to the him. He has a great blog site if you interested in 3d check it out.

 I look forward to doing another session with the guys Max, Chris and Bernie, and Nathan might even do two over the weekend. 

It starting to become addictive, 'i just got to get a digital paint fix.' Ha ha 

Anyway that enough from me, next week there is going to be a great theme (suject) to paint to and i can't wait to get started. Ok thats enough from me here's my painting.

I really wanted to work on this one more. It was coming a long and i could see the finished results. Still not fast enough!!

Another day another painting!

Change my process in this one. Started with more of a line art style then painted over the top of it. I think i like it better it allow me to think a lot more before i start lay down the tone and colours. Normal start with the main shape and build from darks up to lights. I think i could get more structure by doing the line art first.

Hate the legs need to find more time to make sure parts of the painting get the same amount of time.

Still need to speed up and refine the way it looks (style).

1hr Session 

Just about made it before the end of the day. Did this paint at 10.30pm and finished it at 11.30pm. This week we are doing girls from the 1960's. I had a bit of trouble on this one couldn't get the detail i wanted, but it that what happens when your trying to paint fast.

Not extremely happy with it but it a exercise i guess, and i look to improve daily.

Enjoyed doing this painting but it took to long. Need to work on the speed of creating the body shape and the lighting, so i can move on to colour values and have a more finished painting.

Stuff i referenced for this piece almost had nothing to do the painting directly but it was a good starting point for me. All picture are taken researching.

This week I plan to create five warm up sketches based on full body character designs based on the 1950's theme. 

This morning was a great session got to paint with Uni friend and Chris Bowles and Max.  Both are great artist and can't wait for tomorrow morning for the next session.

Another 1hr session 

and starting to see improvement on the over all forms of the character portraits base on '1960's actors theme'. Not sure what type of theme i plan to do next week but think i will keep the style of painting and design the same until i feel i got my own style that carries through.

Perpetual Sketches

This blog is dedicated to posting random sketches, processes and random articles and techniques that inspirer me to create my art. 

There is a random sketch i did on photoshop this morning. I find its the best way to get the day started.

This picture involved some character design aspect mixed in with a exercise about light. As i always say the more you try the better you become. Hope to improve on this daily.
